It's hard to express just how much gratitude we here at FlickLine feel towards the course owners of Rose Valley Disc Golf. They believed in us, and empowered us to create something big and bold. Although not everyone loves the wide-open long shots, or the wind that can reek havoc on those shots, the course is working its way into the larger vision of disc golf in PEI. For Rose Valley, we always envisioned a phased-in approach. The project was so large and all-encompassing that plans were made for expansion every year for the first three years; the 2021 season will be Year 3 of that plan. We designed this course with our "Worlds" bid in mind, and many of the holes will be expanded and cleaned up to fit that vision. There are a ton of fun shots here, including some downhill blasts that make those hilly walks worth your time. It's also a nice bonus to have a brewery onsite, and you may want to plan at least one visit to coincide with BarNone's open hours.
Overall Rose Valley is a diverse mix of open holes, wooded tunnels, and a well balanced blend of hyzer and anhyzer tee shots. All the tee pads are now hard pack with turf on top. Distance can be very rewarding here especially on some of the finishing holes but placement drives will give you birdie looks all day long. There is a great mix of hardwood stands throughout this course and a few vistas that encourage players to take a second and soak in the beautiful scenery that interior PEI has to offer. More than any course on the island wind can be a major factor so before arriving at the course you might want to have at least one extra over-stable disc in the bag.
