Another public disc golf course that was built on small budget. This course came into being because the Recreational Director of Sydney saw an opportunity to invest in his community. Although the park is shared with walkers, including dog walkers, a disc golf community has slowly taken shape, and has carved out a space all their own. As of winter 2021, there are 18 baskets in the course, all with lines cut; by summer 2021, we expect this course will look much different. There are a couple of key figures in Cape Breton that are starting to plan events, run workshops, and generally engage the wider community. Traditional ball-golf is huge here, and we fully expect disc golf to follow in these footsteps. The seeds of growth are already planted, and are taking root.
