Well 2021 certainly isn't going as planned for us here in the east coast. The last few weeks in the Maritimes have been among the hardest since the start of Covid. Case counts in Nova Scotia have hit record highs, travel is still very much restricted, but with this weeks news we are optimistic that there is a pathway forward. For the first time in a long while we feel like we can see the basket at the end of the tunnel!

With all of that in mind here is our final plan of the year.

We will be running a shortened tour season starting in July and running until the Nov tour championship. Only the Sackville 2 day event will be rescheduled.

Fingers are crossed that the first event of the Flickine tour season will be The Canadian Nationals Satellite Event.

Since we have less events for the overall tour the payouts will be bumped up for each event that we can run. Gift cards will be given to the top 4 players in each amateur division with 8 or more participants. For the open division all the events after the Nationals Satellite will have a minimum of $400 first place for MPO and $300 first place for MP40 (with Divisions of 8 or more).

* Please note that the 'provincial only' events run earlier in the year will not count towards year end points as NS was not able to run an equivalent event. As a gesture of good will we will be offering the Am winners from NB, and PEI a bump up for their prizes. Individual players will be contacted. *

The grand prize for overall MA1 winner will now be 6 permanent DiscGolfPark baskets that can be donated to a new or existing course -or- 2 permanent baskets (Disc Golf Park) with no strings attached.

All other divisions will have the same grand prize as before. All prizes, points systems, and tour dates are listed below.

For overall points it will now be your top 5 events that count.

Please note if travel restrictions prevent any of these events from happening there will be no overall tour points kept, instead prizes will be increase for each individual event. The minimum number of events this tour will run with is 8.

With all that in mind here is the new (and final) schedule:

** June 5/6: Hillsborough DGC (Hillsborough, NB) ** Non- tour event (but still super awesome)

** June 19: Rose Valley (Breadalbane, PE) ** Non- tour event (but still super awesome)

The tour itself will have a year-long point system that will be tracked and displayed on our website (www.flickline.ca). Players can use up to their best five finishes for their overall tour points. The point system is as follows:

1st place = 25 points

2nd place = 23 points

3rd place = 21 points

4th place = 20 points

5-8th places = 18 points

9-12th places = 16 points

13-16th places = 14 points

17-20th places = 12 points

All other places = 10 points

In order to qualify for end-of-the-year prizes, players must play in at least four events in the same division. The prizes include (but are not limited to):

MA18: PDGA membership for the following season, plus custom discs

FA2: disc golf bag (backpack style)

MA2: Zuca cart

MA40: Grip bag

FA1: practice basket (with permanent option)

MA1: winner's choice (six permanent baskets that must be donated to a new or existing local course, or two permanent baskets with no restrictions)

For every event, the winner of each division will be give a 24-hour advanced registration for the Tour Championship. After that 24-hour window, the remaining spots will be offered to the public.

In the event of a tie, the player who plays the most events will win. If it is still tied, then the player with the most first-place finishes wins. In the event that it is still tied, then the player with the best placement at the Tour Championship will win. If, for some crazy reason, each of those scenarios still results in a tie, then the tied players will play a sudden-death playoff starting at hole #1 on the Tour Championship.

Below you'll find detailed descriptions of the various divisions, based on various disc golf events in the region for the past six years. These descriptions should hopefully help you to determine which division is the best fit for you. Should the need arise, we would offer new divisions, or revise the descriptions given below. Feedback is extremely important to us, so please don't hesitate to bring forth your ideas on how to improve our events. Without you, there is no tour!

In amateur divisions the first 4 places will receive trophies, in open divisions the top 3 will win trophies. In all Flickline events the player who wins their card on the final round will win a prize. The prizes get better the later you tee off.

MA18 is for all junior players who players under the age of 19. This is a great introduction for younger players who wish to compete. They will often have the first tee times of the day, and will play from the shortest tees when possible. All junior players will win prizes for competing.

FA2 is the introductory level division for females of any age. This is a great division for women who are new to the game, are new to competition, or simply just wish to play and compete with less pressure. This division will use the most forward tees, and reduced out-of-bounds (OBs) where possible.  This division will tee off third.

MA2 is the entry level division for mixed amateurs of any age or gender. It is a good introduction division for players new to the game, or for players who are still looking to refine their skill set. All players competing in this division will play from shorter tees. More often than not, this division will tee off second.

MA40 is the division offered for amateur players who will turn 40 (or older) in this calendar year. Players in MA40 will use forward tees with full O.B. rules. This division will often tee off fifth.

FA1 is the most competitive division offered for females only. A blend of longer tee pads and full OB rules will be used for this division.  This division will often tee off fourth.

MA1 is the premier division offered for all amateur players.  This division will use the longest tee pads on the course, with full OB rules in place. Out of all of the amateur divisions, MA1 players will consistently tee off last.

MP40 is the mixed professional division offered for players who turn 40 or older in this calendar year. A minimum of 100% of the tournament entrance fee will be paid out for this division. There will be added cash for all professional divisions for every FlickLine event.

MP0 is the premier division offered for all professional players. A minimum of 100% of the tournament entrance fee will be paid out for this division. There will be added cash for all professional divisions for every FlickLine event. It is our deep-seated belief that the player who wins first place in this division should receive a solid payout, and that each of the cash spots should be significant.

Thanks to all of you for being here and being patient, now let's have ourselves a great 2021 season!
